Apparently being permabanned on this server is incredibly easy, since two of the people I play with have been banned. Here's the thing, I don't think that either of them deserve to be banned, or at least not permanently. One, DMONEY10395, built a statue of himself outside of his house. I'm aware that the server has a no pixel art policy, but he built this statue on his own property almost 8,000 blocks away from spawn. No one can possibly be bothered by that. (On that note, I think the rule should be revised to not allow pixel art until x blocks away from spawn, or something.) The other, D1SEL, is a bit more complicated. When someone was complaining in the chat about their store sign being griefed, he went to the bazaar to help. When the player continued to whine about his sign, D1SEL, now aggravated, changed the sign to what it was before being griefed. Rather than accept the help, the player called a mod and said that D1SEL changed his sign. This much was true, but D1SEL was only trying to get the player to shut up, and only made the same change the player would have himself. I'm aware that I myself may end up getting banned for posting this thread, but if there's no one to play with, then there's not much point to being on the server in the first place.
Dmoney was not banned for pixel art he was banned for stealing items from others. I'm not familar with D1SEL's ban I'm afraid. You would never be banned for a post like this (assuming you didn't break rules in doing so). All bans are able to be appealed. Dmoney has been informed of his ban reason and put in contact with Lguasso who handles appeals.
I was online when D1SEL got banned. From my observation of the chat it sounded like he was also messing with a MFSU and blew up some machines in Kris's shop, but I wasn't actually there About the sign thing. This was before we found out that LogBlock does not log who makes changes to Industrial Info Panels. When someone is calling for a mod to check on a grief DO NOT INTERFERE. Making more changes to a block or an area where a grief has occurred adds to the block log thus making the moderators job more difficult. Again, if it's not yours don't touch it. D1SEL was asked not to touch it. This ban is can be easily appealed. Lessons can be learned and life can go on.
I'd rather know who he stole from. If it was you, D1SEL, or myself, then there can't really be an issue since we're all part of a group. Not that it matters, I don't think he intends to appeal. Go bother him about that.
Appealing is easy and if you don't do it you're more likely to stay banned. The point of the appeal is to open dialog and get everyone's point of view. Like is says in the wiki, SK is a reasonable guy. It doesn't hurt to ask.
Look, I only want to know exactly the situation Dmoney is in here. He is my friend and I have chatted with him and he claims that he was never told why he was banned, he thought he had been banned for building the giant statue of himself. So how can he appeal if he doesn't even really know why he was banned.
Like I said the appeal process is to open up communication between parties. You talked with Dmoney about it but both of you still have questions. Who has the answers? The moderators. How do you contact the moderators about a ban? Through the appeal process. I dislike being blunt about that but it's the only way you are going to get answers.
For your information sk doesn't do ban appeals, it's lguasso who does, and also saying "It's not like SK actually goes over ban appeals" is rude, sorry people have lives and can't sit on the forums 24/7
Doesn't matter now, DMONEY is being difficult (big surprise). He refuses to appeal. As for D1SEL, we can probably assume his appeal was rejected at this point. SKCraft was fun while it lasted.
If dmoney refuses to appeal, let it go. Find a new roomie. If he doesn't wana appeal for whatever reason, that's his problem. Honestly, I'd like the server better with one less robber. I doubt d1sel's appeal was rejected, I have never seen an appeal rejected no matter what they did in all my time of being here. It just takes a really long time.
So you can ban someone for having a house you don't like. Joy. As for the pixel art, I don't think that a statue of yourself looking over your conquests should be a bannable offense. He says he didn't steal anything, I have no reason not to believe him. He's refusing to appeal because he doesn't like server mods that ban people for bullshit reasons. Let's also not forget that if you leave your chest unlocked, you deserve to be robbed blind. You can easily prevent robberies by remembering that people are untrustworthy assholes.
Well, we don't ban someone because he made an ugly cobble square ... It is forbidden though, it's right there in the rules. If someone leaves a chest unlocked, it's still robbery if you steal the items. And if Kyl says he stole, then he did. You're just rambling to excuse the behaviour of your friend.
Now you do. What we shouldn't forget is the rule that clearly states that you are not to steal from others, regardless of claim or lack of claim.
We tell players to make nicer homes if their homes are ugly.. People who make square houses out of dirt and cobble or some other random materials are, usually, notified of their buildings and told to make it nicer and given tips about how to make it nice. ( atleast I do this, lel. Dno if the current mods do this on alice.)
