There seems to be a new server bug that periodically crashes large numbers (if not all) player clients. I've only seen it happen in around 0100 UTC or later.

So the mass disconnection might be a problem with a sort of maintenance ? BTW gk, are you sure this picture respects the rules ? (I just laughed hard at the face the cameraman in the center is making Pervert boy!)
It doesn't look like maintenance because some people are still logged in. I saw this happen once. About 20 players suddenly left the game, I wish I had taken a screenshot.
