Reasons why Salt ore should be turned off on the next mining world reset: 1) It spawns wayyy more often than any ore in the game (nikolite * 2), and overwrites many other ores we lack 2) It's useless unless you use Harvestcraft 3) In the case you do use Harvestcraft, you should know you can craft salt very easily and for nothing as everything you use in the recipe, you get back. Edit: The recipe has been removed in a recent update. According to Pam's documentation, you should be able to change the spawn rate of salt in the config file. Turn it down, please.
I would agree to turning it down, not removing it completely. I use salt for all my food needs, and having to run to the market to keep a stockpile of it seems a little rash and unnecessary, even if it were dirt cheap. I run through food FAST. Turning it down to say 15-20% of its current spawn rate would seem about right.
Perhaps this wasn't stressed enough; You get back everything in the salt recipe, all you need is the initial startup things like the pan and the water bucket. The most automating you need to setup a salt maker that makes FREE salt is to setup a bucket filler. No reason to leave this ore on! If you want, I can even setup an enderchest that constantly refills itself of salt in my shop. And if you really want, I can even provide cheese. BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE, NOLAN! I'll even make the enderchest frequency public! Edit: OK, turns out the recipe for salt has been removed in a recent update. My salt maker stopped working. So yeah, he should turn it down or downgrade to the version where we had the salt recipe
Hence why I said to turn down the worldgen. When I am running around a lot I can run through a few stacks of salt a day easily, sometimes double that. Others may not use that much, most probably do not use it at all. But for the people that do use it, or like me use it in large quantities on a daily basis, being told that you will no longer find it in the world and you have to go buy it from spawn seems a bit harsh.
Turn it down allot You've mined allot, Nolan. You know how much this shit spawns. It's so anoying that where there could be bauxite or ruby, there's fricking salt salt salt salt salt.
Although salt as a resource is practically redundant. It's amazing XP. That said, I'd be willing to see it severely downsized in frequency in favor of other, more useful resource deposits.
I'm more in favor of disabling the salt generation now. Since I'm making a mining machine with mining wells, I'm using sorting machines to pull items out, and to keep it from placing the ores/other blocks, i need more sorting machine room. but salt is in the way, and the machines are full ;-;
