well, I know we have mystcraft, and there is a config to stop corruption of the worlds. I thought we could use mystcraft ages for the mining world, and the book costs N things that are rare (diamonds come to mind) for the book to get there. the portal could then just be a book to the spawn, allowing for a one-time transaction until the world gets reset. also, to encourage people to mine there add a "ore rich" page to it each time; it would mean that it is more effective as well to go to the mining world, so no-one ever has to make massive underground mines in the main world, which I know happens because I do it. is this a good idea? EDIT: also remove the old world files and destroy any of its books.
SK tried to use Mystcraft to create the mining world, but it failed, so now we have a Bukkit plugin or something like that. Also, ore rich worlds would be a terrible idea, as mining for ores mustn't get too easy, even in a mining world.
Why are you bothering to suggest things for a server you don't play on? Just a quick thought i have. Anyway, i think sk is very aware of this possibility.
did play about two weeks ago* losing all your basic equipment kinda stops you working well, not to mention having nothing to work with...
Making a dense ores world does equal OP, played with that mod on a tekkit lite server, every day walked out of there with over 2 stacks of diamonds every 20 mins.
If you played on the server for longer then a few weeks before rage-quitting; you would know that most UUM recipes are disabled. Mostly the ones that actually give you materials, like diamonds, ores and gems ect ect. But nolan is right, even if the recipes are on, it's highly unlikely someone would make diamonds with it.
100% spot on. If you happen to have a quarry, it will be much easier for you to make diamonds through macerating coal than UU matter.
lol I played for a day and had already figured out that it was disabled :3 also on the server I hosted before playing this I used mystcraft to make my mining world, and just disabled the bad affects and added dense ores to my book, It is indeed amazingly dense but only does this by adding more of the rarer kinds of ore. This means the ores like copper that we mass use would be less common making it useless. a second note from when I did it is it integrated nether ores into the ground, and ore rate was only 1.5x the norm from what I could see running 4, 64*64 quarrys down to bedrock.
