I've moved the New York mirror server to a new server in the same area, which seems to have a 20-30 ms faster connection to the real server in Germany. The change may not take effect for you for 1-2 days. You can connect to the mirror using: ny.alice.sk89q.com It is the exact same server as the main Alice -- it is merely a proxy. This is how it works: Note that if you are east of the proxy, you should not try.
Is there anyway this might help the 30 sec lag I have been getting every day only up until 3:00 PM, then it stops... Also, my provider is COX, also live in Cali, anyone else having these problems as well?
If you haven't tried talking to COX then I don't know what you have been doing. Sounds like an ISP issue.
a.k.a. Get overly priced internet that you will never need such speeds to play skcraft because OP is talking about ping not bandwidth.
Its only the server, and it's only been happening recently, and both houses that are both provided by COX, so yes it's probably an ISP issue. Never really thought they could do much about it, seems like a very isolated issue, I could try to connect to another server around those times but I could be wrong... They only offer that north, and what hsun said, but not only to play Alice, no website offers that much bandwidth, so having that much speed is only really good for downloading multiple files at slow speeds...
