Hey, guys! Who here is very interested in the popular British sci-fi show Doctor Who? I like it so much, I've made a Lego Dalek with an attachable death beam, and I've done Daleks and TARDIS console rooms in Minecraft! I want to show you my most recent Dalek (a 70s/80s Renegade Dalek), so here you go:

Hope you like it! unfortunately, that username got in there, but it won't matter! It's got a working gunstick and lights, too! (or, at least, it DID, but then the host reset the plots in favor of bigger ones :()

I personally, love the franchise. Not enough to like, buy small figurines or anything but i do love the T.V series. It's kinda sad, because I am VERY jumpy, so I'm not good with those weeping angel episodes and such, but when it's not them, i really love it.

I'll try and get a couple shots of my Lego Dalek for you guys. Quick warning: it has some inaccuracies due to me not having enough pieces to achieve the perfect close-to-minifigure size, and in other words, the eyestalk is in a funny place.

I didn't watch a lot of Doctor Who, and I don't really want to watch them all.
But anyway, Doctor Who is really cool. As old as it could be, it is still awesome!

I'm in an afterschool tech club at my school, and one of the older students that come in to help out brought in his replica Mark 5 (Matt Smith edition) Sonic Screwdriver today, and it could actually turn on and off the projector in the room! I have no clue how he did it, I know it's not a programmable remote from thinkgeek.com, but he must've done SOMETHING to make it do that! He could even move the cursor on the Apple TV application using his screwdriver!

P.S. I'm gonna work on those Lego Doctor Who photos (meaning not just the Dalek!), so I hope you like them! Also, it's my own custom story: my version of the 12th Doctor travels with his new companion Samantha (had to think of a name), who works for UNIT, which is an organization I'm pretty sure most die-hard, long-time fans will know about. Also, I had the Daleks split into factions again, including the Renegade, Imperial, and new Separatist factions. (The Separatists are defective models made by the Renegades when they wanted to create a new army, but these models ended up being messed up, with a few, more audience-enjoyable emotions that normal Daleks don't have. The Renegades put these defects into exile, but the Separatists banded together to build their own empire, lead by General Xaan.)

THEY'RE HERE! I just finished taking the photos on my Nintendo 3DS, and have found out how to get my files up on here. Enjoy them:

    HNI_0069.JPG HNI_0070.JPG

The 12th Doctor. For him, I used the body of the old Lego Harry Potter series's Professor Quirrell minifigure, one of which my bro found on the floor at his school. I also used the old Ron Weasley head, and a Hogwarts student's cloak, along with a Lego City police cap. The new Sonic Screwdriver was simple: a telescope piece with a red light on it.

    HNI_0072.JPG HNI_0073.JPG

Above are 2 pics of the Doctor's lovely companion from UNIT, Samantha. She's basically a minifigure from a limited edition Lego City set (Public Transport set, to be exact), along with a blaster I made with the Alien Invaders "ADU" blaster, with a 1x1 tube and a small sonar dish on it.

    HNI_0082.JPG

Samantha in her UNIT armor. I wanted UNIT to get a more UNSC-like feel (Halo fans know what the UNSC is), more space-age futuristic style than real-world modern. The armor is made with a green BrickForge (maker of custom Lego pieces) Powered Assault (Mark VI Spartan Armor) Helmet, and a Shock Trooper (ODST Armor, maybe) chest plate. Seriously, BrickForge is the boss when it comes to Lego Halo stuff. More pics in another post!

    Here's the rest:

    HNI_0074.JPG

The TARDIS console. I don't have enough pieces for a full-on console room yet, even though I have a ton of red Lego bricks. I have the basic design, though, with some levers and buttons as addons.

    HNI_0075.JPG

My favorite, the Dalek. Technically, a Separatist Dalek from my storyline. As I warned you, the head is funky, since it hasn't got the vent thing, and the eyepiece is placed weirdly. I didn't have what I needed to add all that, including the lights for communication. The plunger thing is made with a basic antenna piece, while the gunstick is another telescope. I'd have used a lever piece, but I REALLY wanted to have an attachable death beam. And speaking of death beams...

    EXTERMINATE!

    HNI_0077.JPG

Yep, there's my death ray. The clip for making it adjustable kinda reminds you of the 70s-80s method of extermination, where little, heated slips of metal come out of the stick and FIRE THE LAZAR! The beam is self-explanatory: a Star Wars lightsaber blade.

    EXTERMINATE! (below)

    HNI_0078.JPG

EXTERMINATE! (21st Century Edition!) (below AGAIN)

    HNI_0079.JPG

Yes, modern Daleks cause a negative camera effect when scoring a hit on a human.

    HNI_0080.JPG

Finally, the TARDIS! I could only make a miniature version, due to constraints of brick amounts. I had a way worked out on Lego Digital Designer, but I accidentally deleted it when getting rid of my extra copies of my earlier prototype. GAH!

    Couple more:

    HNI_0081.JPG

    HNI_0083.JPG

    OK, that's it! See ya!

Hey guys, go on YouTube and search the username "LuckyTardis". His custom Doctor Who opening intro videos are awesome, especially his Matt Smith title mock-up. That one's GFX are Colin Baker's (6th Doctor's) spangles with the 11th Doctor's face and logo replacing his. The song is the 1980-1985 theme booted up to a slightly higher key, mixed with some new sound effects and electric guitar bits added to compliment it. You'll probably love it! Also, tardiselliot intros are good, if you want to see more good stuff. BTW, I'm using a new beam for my Dalek, the new beam is transparent blue and antennae shaped, not to mention longer! It was part of the Forerunner structure that was buildable in a Mega Bloks Halo set I got for my Lego Halo stuff.

VY EEZ NO VUN REEZPONDING? Seriously, it's been days since there was activity on here. Maybe we need to get to a new topic. So, what's your favorite Dalek? I mean model, not specific character. Here's a list of the ones after the 60s Daleks:

    1. 1972 Gold Dalek Supreme
    2. Renegade Dalek
    3. 1980s Renegade Dalek Supreme
    4. Imperial Dalek
    5. Special Weapons Dalek
    6. Dalek Storm (never appeared in the show but was planned for the cancelled Remembrance special (this remembrance is different than 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks) )
    7. Modern Gold Dalek
    8. 2009 Red Dalek Supreme
    9. Ironside Daleks
    10. 2010 White Dalek Supreme (New Dalek Paradigm)
    11. Red Dalek Drone (NDP)
    12. Blue Dalek Strategist (NDP)
    13. Yellow Eternal Dalek (NDP)
    14. Orange Dalek Scientist (NDP)
    15. The Stone Dalek

    You decide.

I might be making a Lego Doctor Who stop motion soon. I just need to find a free video editing program. Anyone know one?

UPDATE: Already got Windows Live Movie Maker on my computer. The page for Movie Maker said to make sure you didn't already have it, so I made sure and it just popped up. YAY!

May take a while for my vid to be ready. Gotta get a good background, stable lighting, and a far better camera to shoot with. It's too easy to knock over my 3DS screen with my hands. It'll star my Separatist Dalek, who goes on a killing spree. My 12th Doctor will come to cream it, though. I'll also show some pictures of all the characters and props. NOTE: A group of everyone's favorite sci-fi super soldiers will be making a special appearance!

Sorry but I might not make it for a while, I've been too addicted to Team Fortress 2 lately.

This is my new Imperial Dalek (Origin: Remembrance of the Daleks, 1988) statue in Minecraft. The blaster is thick and weird-looking, but doing this allowed me to make a redstone lamp that, when a button is pushed, will pop out and be lit up for a few seconds, then dim and retract. I'm planning to do more Dalek statues in SKCraft, hopefully with better looks and more functionality thanks to my chosen Alice texture pack and mods.
