Anyone getting into ME/AE consider just making an ME Drive instead of ME Chests. It's basically 10 chests in one block!
The ME drive and ME chest serve different purposes. The chest is so you can organize, or empty storage cells. The purpose of the ME drive is to have many cells at once available to the ME network.
I found new chunks at just over 4000 blocks from spawn. So instead of whining, you might give it a try. A novel concept, and very constructive help too.
it all depends on where you go. I went 3k in one direction, no quartz, 1500 blocks the other, and found some. It wasn't even in a direction away from spawn, it was pretty much due west of me
Had to fly 6000 one direction and nearly 4000 in another before I found new chunks. That was after going about 5000 in another direction trying to find new stuff. I guess it's all just if people around you had gone mining/frameraping or not.
So it's not very feasible for me to try to find it because here have been at least three bore collisions with my bore tunnel so there is a high likelyhood of chunks generated near me... It makes little sense to even attempt to travel so far because it already takes me 20 minutes to get to my bore which is only about 1500 blocks away...
Hopefully they will sell quartz at spawn, also glowstone. For the auto crafting it takes 3 glowstone dust per template, I currently have space for 600+ templates, so if everyone is doing that the nether really will be devoid of glowstone rather fast.
