If some chunks in your area have either disappeared or "moved" as a result of the recent crash, I will have to graft over a copy of the chunk from a backup. That can only be done when the server is not running however, so it is best if we collect a list of chunks to be copied over in one go. Stand in all chunks that have either gone missing or have moved (in both the "old" and "new" chunks) and use the /chunkinfo command. Write down a list of the coordinates (the first line) and post them in this thread.
Could we be given 'til like Friday to get this? I just can't get on Minecraft right now (sicky sick). I'll edit this post when I get my chunk data. And, does this chunk reset only apply to chunks that were loaded when the server was outta memory? Edit: Nevermind. My chunks don't seem to have been reset.
As of the explanation of sk89q, it's not just loaded chunks, but more specifically chunks modified. I might be wrong BTW, and sorry for that...
Only missing chunk I found at my base: -17, -61 in file r.-1.-2.mca And a nice view of the crater in the base.
wouldnt this also undo mining? people would be able to just redo any mining done, getting more stuff. hmm.
If I were to take a true guess on what happened. When the RAM Disk crashed, Java did not have time to unload the chunks properly. And Certain Chunks with special properties, such as Slime Chunks as well as other types of chunks, can be corrupted when Java has no time to unload them.
Maybe, if my friend BAMgames is online, we could get our stuff refunded too and the chunk regenerated A little more work for us, but we'll live.
