Please add equivalent exchange since diamonds and other rare things are hard to find and there are no quarries.
I don't think this is the solution because: 1. The mining world is being added fairly soon (right sk?), 2. Upfront difficulties are overcomeable and they quickly dissipate, and 3. Scrupulous use of diamonds and trade has me at 86 right now... Remember that there are already ways to increase diamond output on this server.
64 coal is more valuable than 1 diamond. >_> I have a friend who builds with me who insists that making diamonds out of coal is a viable means of getting diamonds. STOP IT. MY COAL IS VALUABLE. That said, EE is an abomination.
The new EE isn't nearly as bad as the old version was. Forget EVERYTHING about EE you knew, none of it's in EE3. Right now it's little more than a portable crafting device and an item you can transmute dirt to cobble in the world with. The crafting transmute options are pretty handy though, but still a little OP, like Logs -> Obsidian for example. Maybe the next version, if it's ever released, will have more compelling features, but right now it's not much of a mod anymore.
Note how I didn't say coal. That might be an appealing way to make materials, but it is fairly OP when combined with other mods like Forestry
Why would anyone want EE anyway? Put an energy condenser down then you have unlimited of what ever you want.
EE still has emc, a noob can still hook up a cobble gen or a forestry machine to a table and poof! free materials of any kind for life. That is the definition of overpowered.
Not in the current incarnation of EE3. Cobblestone is unable to make anything valuable as of yet, and Pahimar is thinking of a system where the EMC gained from an item is less than the cost to make something, but since EE3 is still in such an early stage of development that it is important that we throw any preconceptions of the EE series that we may have gotten from EE2 out the window and look at this from a fresh perspective. I suggest that everyone look at a review of EE3 (not EE2) or review the EE3 forum post. Edit: Making things more obvious.
We should have this mod once it's fully released. And this actually could fit in the theme very well since the mod creator said EMC will travel in "wires", just like how IC2 have cables and BC3 have pipes.
The changes to emc were not apparent from reading the ee3 wiki or this article. My point was that if EE can allow the player to generate items freely, to transmute with no penalty, then EE is overpowered. The current mods on the server allow some transmutation, but not easily. There is always a cost. And it takes thought and creativity to set up those systems. From what I can tell of EE it does not take thought and does not have any real cost. Setting up a Matter Fabricator is a huge investment of time and resources. Setting up a safe (non flux) thaumcraft transmutation system is possibly a larger investment, with the research involved. Those systems are nearing the endgame of those mods Adding a simple EMC number to items, dumping them in a pot, and taking out what you want cheapens that effort. Maybe EE3 will become more balanced, maybe it won't. If it doesn't, then it shouldn't be on the server. If it does then great. As of yet, it is not balanced enough.
If Facebook were to go down right now (or whenever you read this, not a single **** would be given. (not by me anyway)
