    Can you solve a Rubik's Cube (3 by 3)?
If yes, what's your best time?

    I can solve a 3 by 3 in 53.2 seconds.

    I can solve 2x2, 3x3, 4x4, 5x5, Minx and some other stuff :)
    On the 3x3 I average around 17.
    My PB is 11.40 seconds.
Heres a solve of mine that was at my first competition earlier this month:

Isn't there some highly predictable formula you use to solve them consistently?

Well there's a method to it. I do a cross, then the first 2 layers at once. After that I use algorithms to orient and permute the top layer. Normally it takes 2 algorithms a solve but you need to learn 78 in order to get to that stage.

Guys, I always wanted to have and solve an original cube but I've never had the patience needed for learning its main steps... Since I saw the video I have been being like "Oh God, I must give it a try. I will buy a cube and get it solved in less than 2 mins for now"! :p

So, I've searched for some cubes to buy and I'm wondering if you could recommend one for me... So far, I have seen some videos and reviews and most of them pointied to either Dayan Zanchi or Dayan GuHong. Are they good? At the online store I know, currently I could buy only the Zanchi since the other is sold out. If I buy the Zanchi, it will be at home next Monday (February, 04). If I wait for the GuHong, it may take one or more months! What should I do?

Thank you that much and congratulations for those times! :D

Personally, I use a Lubix Zhanchi as my main, but I have a GuHong too. I would recommend a good beginners cube like an F-II or Alpha V before you go onto some "faster" cubes like the Zhanchi as some cubes that people use are way too loose and "fast" for people starting off to use. If you really want the Zhanchi though, get it as the "too loose" and "too fast" things I talked about really only apply to prelubed cubes etc.

I can solve a 3x3 and 2x2. Not the fastest time but at least i can solve it. If you want to learn to solve the 3x3, i suggest you check out pogobat on youtube.

If you want to getting into speedcubing I recommend you DON'T use pogobats tutorial, while I learnt from him to start out from, his method is not good for transitioning to CFOP and is slower than an EO CO CP EP beginner's method as it requires more repititon. If you want to learn a good beginners method search up badmephisto, or even just use my crappy tutorial on my channel :)

I recommend starting off using a basic Rubik's cube, since its not fast at nor slow. I normally research at Bob Burton's site, www.cubewhiz.com. He teaches you how to lubicate you cube, and guide you through a simple beginning tutorial. After that, try to learn about 4LLL, or four look last layer. Once you master that, you average time should be about 1-2 min (depend if you lube your cube). Then you should start getting a DIY Cube or any cube suggested by dark (or fruity, depend on how you call him :p

BTW, typo on my name :p

wow, sorry for the misstyping, hehe :p

Well, thank you both for the replies. I liked them so much but but buuut fortunately (or unfortunately) i've already bought a zhanchi one! :D

Don't missunderstand me: I don't want to mean "I didn't give a shit to your comments and bought anything else" but as I told fruity I live in Brazil and that cube was the only one available in a trustable virtual shop that I know... Otherwise I'd need to buy directly from China or any "inconvenient/suspicious" reseller and It could go wrong due to the importation laws and stuff or shipping... Well, It'd take at least 20 working days plus the money for shipping plus the "preocupation" with the laws and stuff that could eventually "block" my order when it was arriving here, in Brazil!

Anyway, as I said, thank you so so much for both! I bought that and it's arriving home next monday or tuesday xD

    See you!
