Well, I did read some things, but I guess I probably got a bad version because none of the peripheral commands were returning anything for me...
You will also have to more specific as to what you mean by code? EDIT: I also don't understand why everything around here starts to become a competition as to some sort of "betterness" or "correctness."
Actually, OpenCCSensors already has a way to scan IC2 things now, as well as BuildCraft stuff and some other things. Here's an example: http://i.imgur.com/udzIL.jpg
The reason why I didn't install OpenCCSensors was because you could do everything at a range, which obsoletes a bunch of other things.
Well, I believe that the range is a two block radius, unless I read the code incorrectly. Hopefully you enable the CC IO API and wireless modems because you can't have things like centralized systems without that.
I am currently unsure about about ExtraBiomesXL. The biomes are not very creative, especially compared to Biomes o' Plenty, and it may prevent things like Forestry hives from spawning. Biomes o' Plenty isn't an option because it's even less compatible with other mods, even though it has far better biomes.
I remember forestry hives spawning w/ EBXL. The problem isn't world gen, its with machine recipe compatibility like Forestry fermenters and tree saplings not working. Anyways, I agree with the point that EBXL is less creative especially with all of the humongous "ugly" looking trees.
Even if extrabiomes isn't "creative" enough for you, I, personally would still love to see it in the pack. As hsun had said, Forestry hives do spawn in Extrabiomes biomes. Trees from Biomes o' plenty wouldn't work in fermenters either, by the way, hsun. Unless someone wants to make a sapling dictionary. (I think.) Which is kind of a waste of time. Kind of.
Lua program you used in OpenCCSensors where the peripheral commands weren't returning anything for you. And, I have no idea where you got the "betterness" idea from. I'm simply trying to understand why it wasn't working for you... It can go up to a 16 block radius, depending on the sensor. Indeed, but you can disable certain sensors, and also adjust the max radius in the API if the range bothers you. I'd personally like it thou so for once, the peripheral doesn't need to be right up against the block it's reading. Things like the proximity and dropped item detector would also open up a wide range of possibilities... I'd personally love it if the vanilla pressure plate were to be made obsolete by the proximity detector, we've had it for too long and could use a change - the gregtech player detector is just too simple.
@gk Interactive lua prompt testing. @Cirno That is not the biome mods fault. It's because forestry doesn't use the ore dictionary for that. EBXL does have saplings in the dictionary.
I actually disabled the biomes with those ugly trees, so that's not a problem anymore. I think I'm going to keep EBXL though, after all.
Alright, makes sense. The only things those trees do are add depth, be a nuisance, make chunks larger, and debalance wood supply.
No matter what you do, chunks are always 16x16x256 blocks. Which trees, by the way? the autumn ones or the really tall ones?
Why are we using Compact Solars over Advanced Solars? I just skimmed the Alice Second Call, and I want to make a couple comments. Advanced Solars requires Iridium for anything more than an LV Solar. Compact solars is just endless basic solar panels compacted. The argument is that because Gregtech tweaks the basic solar recipe Compact Solar actually ends up being more expensive. This is not so. Silicon plates are actually very, very easy to get. You run Sand through an Industrial Electrolyzer to generate Silicon, and then just run them through an Industrial Blast Furnace. Further, Gregtech's tweak to the solar recipe enables you to use Golden Conductive Tubes (Forestry) in place of circuits. 5 gold 2 redstone for 4. The basic solar is very, very easy to make, once you have the requisite machines.
OK, so I just looked through GregTech: I plan to disable like 50% of GregTech's modifications because I find them really stupid. They don't make things more end game; they make the game playable only by people who have too much time on their hands. The mods themselves already require a ton of patience if you're not familiar with them. Edit: I was also told that GregTech modifies CompactSolars and this appears to not be true at all.
