Ah, my bad. Yes, chunk claiming mods would solve the whole potential-griefing/theft problem. Just as a matter of curiosity, why would you or your friend be eliminated? If the two of you have already been whitelisted and haven't been griefing, I see no reason why you wouldn't be allowed in again post-reset.
About the chunk claiming mod: I need to know, if we use that, what would be the cost of a chunk claiming ? Right now it was coal coke, but then what would it become ?
It would be free, since it's a "3rd party" mod and not sk's there would be no way to add a cost to it unless he were to modify the mod itself to add a cost.
Can't we just advise players to claim their chunks and disable the few things that evade claim protection (like the mining laser)?
The current plan is to set up a server with 1.4.6 with perhaps a temporary chunk claiming mod, and then port WG maybe by the end of next week, and then switch to that.
Yeah going full Forge sounds like a plan, and having WorldGuard ported by the end of next week? Sounds like you're going to be busy.
If everything on bukkit atm is ported to forge, wouldn't it make life easier from the user end? (ie not claiming chunks, rather, individual columns, and being able to see what's claimed?)
Yes, but that is unfortunately a ton of work. And possibly not entirely worth it in the long run if the MC API comes out.
