You are not in charge of the forum ... <.<. And even if you were, this forum doesn't need this hard regulation because nobody gives a **** ...
I have been a moderator on several high and low traffic forums, including the official Fly For Fun and Aika forums. From my experience, necro rules serve little to no purpose if the topic is still relevant; which can be said for a good majority of topics; including this one. On low traffic forums such as this one, necro rules will literally choke the very life out of the forum. When I posted here it was the 4th closest thread to the top of this forum section. That's low traffic. I'm sorry you've been blinded by the typical terrible modding practice of "necro", but honestly you need to open your eyes and take a look at the difference between a bad necro, and simply a topic revival. Bad necros are posts where you revive a subject that has already been discussed to it's finish, reached a resolution, or simply put holds no relevance to the world of today. Imagine minecraft removed sheep from the game and then added them back due to massive unrest; but in between the time that they removed them and the time they added them back there were many threads about how much we miss the sheep. Months after this conflict resolution, someone posts in the thread with something like "Yea that sucked." That is an example of a bad necro because the topic is no longer relevant. On a low traffic forum people may actually have forgotten about the sheep fiasco and now wish to discuss it again and reminisce of old memories. This is healthy forum activity. On a high traffic forum the thread would likely be locked by an overzealous moderator and there would be multiple posts within a few minutes saying things like "nice necro", "omg necro". These derail the thread and bring the posts back up to the top of the forums which is actually more harmful than the necro itself as without them, if the topic is truly a necro and has no further discussion to be held, the topic would fall back off to the later pages. In this case, the Trayvon Martin shooting case is still in it's infancy and the Stand Your Ground law is still being highly debated on the news and media outlets. I personally live in Orlando, and the topic is constantly discussed here; but you don't even need to live in Florida for this to still be a relevant topic. tl;dr -> "This is a nerco" posts are more harmful than the nercos themselves.
Back on topic lads, this isn't a debate over necro posts. If you have a problem with someone bumping an old thread, tell a mod instead of shitposting. Stand your ground like Spartans.
This topic is for adding your input to a debate. If my post was useless, then so was everyone else's? Also, I'll assume you mean "bump" when you say "necro" - In a forum where where there's a few posts a month, one of the things keeping it from death is "bumps"
Its a useless post because you had nothing to say and you simply quoted another person, if you posted something that was your own opinion and input to the debate, it would be different.
My opinion was summed up perfectly by what he said (which I stated) - therefore I kind of did add my opinion..
