when I try and open alice/vincent I dont even see the game open, or crash. but the nice test in addons let me see this

    Process ended with code 1
Error occurred during initialization of VM
Could not reserve enough space for object heap
Error: Could not create the Java Virtual Machine.
Error: A fatal exception has occurred. Program will exit.
any help on how to fix it?

Your computer haven't got enough memory to launch the game, go into the options, in the evironement options, and set the max ram to 3/4 of your ram, and 1/2 of your ram for the min ram

ok, so 3/4 of 3.5GB? hehe

hmm, the initial is 128MB. thats ridiculously low, how did it default to THAT?
also, I did it and it still crashes even with 3GB of ram assigned to it. I wonder how much it needs, as I have 3.5GB of ram usable (effing windows vista doesnt come in 64-bit any more! only to force us to buy wind 7, and if I want wind 8 64bit I have to buy windows 7 AND windows 8. it totals to about £200... for only half a GB of ram more from my 4GB drive.)

edit for the fourth time, just noticed min is 1/2 and max is 3/4... and i have them both at 3GB
and, through all the effort of clicking on all the numbers to give me 3/4 of 3584, it still crashes with the same error. how much memory does this thing need to run line 1?!?!?

i had this issue too, keep your minimum to 128mb and switch your maximum to 1024 mb

so I waste 2.5GB of memory? I usually would keep it at a nice and high value of 1,564 (1.5GB). its not like im not gonna lag when you use lots of solars, as each one makes 40 values of 1 a tick to move down the cables, unless we have to use redstoned LV transformers.

yay it works, had to reset the settings to default again. seems the values had gone weird and werent doing anything so going to a value of null, which is a default value.

1,564mb? that 1.5GB. Also, the general rule with lag reduction for Minecraft is "more ram = more lag"

If someone can find a real guy really having more than 512GB of RAM, I'll give him all my stuff on Vincent!!!

go to nasa, since it's basically impossible to have 512gb of ram otherwise. The most you could get on a consumer/enthusiast end motherboard is like 96GB on the EVGA SR-2, but you might have incompatibility issues with that much ram.

Anyway RAM makes only more space, the real things that makes your performance to change is how fast is that RAM space ;)
It's like people saying: "Hey I don't understand why, but I got 4GB of RAM but I still can't use SEUS (Sonic Ether Unbelievable Shaders)" To those people I answer: "BECAUSE YOU DON T HAVE A GOOD ENOUGH GRAPHIC CARD!"
