I use the SkLauncher for all of my minecraft stuff, including vanilla. I like to play with a few extra things though, NEI, Reis, and InvTweaks. But Forge is required for NEI, and the launcher always crashes when launching with Forge installed. It works fine on the normal minecraft launcher. Is there any chance we could get a compatibility update?
You should know it has no link with the launcher, but actually your minecraft client, you can swap with any launcher you want, it will still crash, because of your client and not the launchers...
Actually, Forge tries to access a class at net.minecraft.launcher to download it's dependencies which causes a crash with sk's launcher due to the lack of the net.minecraft.launcher package.
Wait, is it the new version of forge?, that uses the coremods file to install jar mods?, if it is, just delete the addons folder. If its not, ignore the message.
The newest version of forge that uses a new coremods folder to install "Jar" mods has some sort of incompatibility with the launchers addons folder that causes to crash (from what i've experienced).
Works fine with the normal minecraft launcher, error is also related to the launcher you can see right in the error code. Yes its the new version with the coremods etc. I used it to install NEI. Addons folder is empty except for a folder called minecraft.jar which is also empty. Deleted it and launched with the SKMCLauncher and it crashed, also recreated the addons folder. Error: http://screencast.com/t/V6het3yQh
That is the error I was talking about here: I don't know how Shadow's works, but I get that error every time too.
That was the error i was also getting when i was updating everything for gks server, but i was probably able to fix it easily cause the launcher i was using was a custom version by gk (not public)
I checked and you are right, cause of the way the SKMC launcher uses to install mods, it is impossible for mods that are calling packages specifically in the minecraft.jar to load, cause the mods aren't patched in the minecraft.jar, but just loaded on other folders, the solution would be to do like sk89q did for the alice client, apart that we don't really know exactly what he've done, I think he just patched manually, then the modified jar is loaded with all package within...
Update your SKCraft launcher, the latest fixes the Forge window trying to open and crashing the launcher. When you were updating everything? And there is a new version of the launcher you need to download btw or stuff don't work (Check your messages) 1.3 Forge has a coremods folder for mods that are suppose to go in the jar, but are specially coded so they can go in coremods. Don't try to install jar mods in coremods unless instructed to do so.
