    So basically, I'm trying to figure out what's going on with wither skeletons.
    If they're not just disabled, is anything being done to get them spawning again?
    There hasn't been a single one anywhere.

    Also, if MPT is unable to make wither skeletons spawn, Ruler and I had the idea of adding nether stars to the IC2 scanner's stuff so that they could be created with UU.

    I apologize in advance if this is the wrong place to post this, but yeah.

    Wither skeletons cannot spawn due to the game messing up the registering of nether fortress locations, it is a bug.

    I do not believe the IC2 scanner is currently configurable to add items either, it is still a WIP I believe. Also adding them would mess with the current balance of KAMI(The current recipe has been made with said balance in mind).

    The KAMI recipes still weren't required to be such a pain in the rear that you need to kill thousands of pigmen to get a few parts of a star.. but I see your point, people would just spam mass fabs and mass produce the stars/kami armor.

    lol, there are many tools at your disposal, no need to kill pigmen by hand. Honestly with the setup I have I think the recipe for wither skulls needs tweaking, the hardest part for me with the recipe is the entropy infused stone, if not for that I would have as many nether stars as I wanted.

    Even with farms it takes forever lol
    And there are no guides on pigmen farms since no mainstream mod packs really need to kill pigmen.

    Here is your guide:

    1. Remove all spawning areas except for one small spot.

    2. Kill the ones that spawn on said spot.

    3. Done.

    Also the time is comparable to what it would take to get wither skulls in vanilla. (Especially when you take spawn rates into account)

    I guess that's fair enough, but the part about time being comparable is false. I've gotten tons of wither skulls from wandering around strongholds in Vanilla :p

    When you take into account the spawn rates of them in fortresses to the spawn rates of pigmen everywhere it absolutely evens out. Back when we had wither skeletons I could wait 10-20 mins and only have 2-3 wither skeletons spawn, if that. With the current setup you can have 10-15 pigmen a minute, easily.

    Yeah, but the drop rate for nether shards from those pigmen is incredibly low

    I believe staff did some testing, with the bedrock sword nether shards were about 1 in 16, with the best looting wither skulls are 1 in 20 (didn't have bedrock back then to test), trust me, it evens out with spawn rates. Before the best I could get was 1-2 wither skeletons a minute (If the server was feeling particularly kind to me that day), now I can easily get a constant stream of pigmen marching steadily to their doom(not to mention TONS of gold and very nice enchanted equipment, I have never even used my enchanting table(or osmotic enchanter)).

    With my rig I have had mixed results. I have had pigmen pouring in constantly and not get a single shard for 30 mins +, other times I have gotten 12 shards in one minute from a fresh restart.

    Anyway I believe your original questions were answered.

    1. Not a bug.

    2. No way to get them spawning again in a fair and balanced manner.

    3. Don't believe they could be added to the scanner, and doubt they would even if they could.

    Just make wither skeletons spawn everywhere in the nether, as long as it's a nether fortress block.

    Oh yes, just whip that up why don't ya?

    A. It is much easier said than done. (seriously)

    B. That would make every nether brick a spawning area for wither skeletons, It would make my pigman farm seem like child's play. If that happened I could have stacks of nether stars in hours.

    Honestly right now, with the power of KAMI and the power of player interfaces, both of which require nether stars, the balance is spot on. KAMI has been a PITA to get, and the first nether shards I used for a nether star went to a player interface. Getting the player interface sooner than I had I feel would be unbalanced, and adding the current hassle has tempered the power of KAMI gear.

    Make it so they only drop skulls when 50% or more of the damage was done by a player.

    Again, impossible. Mob harvesters are made specifically to replicate and imitate player damage.

    Not impossible, have it check what player killed it and if said player is not online, it won't work. Simples.

    Talons, you keep saying these things like it is 2 lines of code and BAM! It is magically done!

    It is not that simple, and it is trying to solve a problem that has already been solved. The code just to get wither skeletons spawning on just nether bricks is a massive amount of work, and if done improperly (Which is very very easy to do) Would be very detrimental to the server.
