What are our options for Going Fast in Alice?

Here's the partial list of what I know (please comment if there's more, and I'll edit):

    Static emplacements:

    - MFR roads. (medium fast. only available in white.)
    - Chisel concrete. (medium fast. available in beige or black. note: 0.9 blockheight, like soul sand; awkward.)
    - Tinker brownstone (medium fast. available in ugly beige. costs tin.)
    - Ztones boosters. (super fast. only available in red carpet. costs redstone.)
    - Minecraft beacons. (medium fast. AOE. expensive.)
    - Grav pistons. (arguably; it's more they throw you around than make you go fast.)
    - RFTools Environment Controller (quite fast. AOE. cheap to build, substantial (>1krf/t) power cost.)
    - [more?]

    Items:

    - Minecraft: Haste enchantment
    - IC2: Quantum pants
    - Flaxbeard: Steam exo suit modular accelerator
    - Botania: Soujorner's Sash
    - Botania: Globetrotter's sash
    - Thaumcraft: Boots of the Traveller
    - Thaumcraft: Boots of the Voidwalker
    - Thaumcraft: Boots of the Horizontal Shield
    - [more?]

    Teleporters:

    - RFTools

Notably absent in the road-like blocks list is anything with your choice of color scheme... Please correct me, I'd love to be wrong about that.

Haste enchantment is pretty speedy and relatively easy to obtain and apply.

Might not be what you're looking for but RFTools Teleporters are cheap and relatively low-power.
    Jetpacks of course, too.

I have some boots or something from Thaumcraft and it's mad fast. Basically catapulting everywhere.

Botania's Soujorner's Sash or Globetrotter's sash, requires mana but with the first one you're at sprinting speed just by walking and have a 2 block jump, the upgraded one is faster than sprinting and a 3 block jump.

The various TC addons we use have various upgrades to the Boots of the Traveller, such as the Boots of the Voidwalker from Forbidden Magic (?), and the Boots of the Horizontal Shield from the Kami part of Thaumic Tinkerer.

    Updated with all suggestions, thanks.

Anymore roadlike options? I was dreaming of making a base that's Fast inside but my options so far appear to be between beige, white, dark grey, and #FF0000 angry red.

RFTools teleporters... I thought could randomly murder you if you dun goof power? Their in game manual seemed to say that, anyway.

Ooh. RFtools also has an "environment controller" with interesting effects...

If you are trying to get a long distance really fast try out the sigil of air from blood magic. Also blood magic adds its own boost pads in the form of a ritual, I have yet to try them out however.

Crazy fast, but better suited to medium/long distances. Not so useful if you just want to Go Fast inside your base.

Another option: Railcraft's high-speed rails. Of course those are for long distances only, not cheap, and require a lot of setup... but they'll get you anywhere in a jiffy. And they're so much more fun to use than teleporters. Also, now that Alice runs from a ramdisk it would also not really be a problem to load chunks in time (which was a problem with the roadlight/water method on previous Alice).

I would have liked to have rail networks just like on Vincent actually. We never use Railcraft for anything except boilers and steel tanks, that's a bit sad. Alice rail networks could be much better than Vincent's thanks to Railcraft. And teleports are so boring - useful, sure, but boring. Min-maxing and saving time everywhere is nice and all but why not have some actual fun once in a while? This is a game, not a job.

If I had a modded server I'd disable all teleports except close-range (e.g. elevators) and teleporting home to your own bed, so you at least have a way to get home if you're lost.

    ...oh. Really.

Darn, I just kinda expected it to be there, we've always had it. Now I'm sad. Do we have something else to provide improvements for rail travel?

We don't, though I could rewrite my rail stuff with blocks.

"Boots of the Voidwalker from Forbidden Magic" this is the best thing ever, especially with "Voidwalker's Sash of Runic Shielding" which make really fast, probably 50 blocks per second

More importantly I love the beautiful building.
