I've yet to read the manga, so can't comment on that, but the ending movie his real name is revealed as Shinta.

Yep, I agree there! I was just being all flash and stuff. I'm actually reading the manga now, I think it's still ongoing, so I'm excited to see what happened after the battle with Makoto Shishio. It's great to meet someone else that loves the series as well.
