So I heard some things about the mod Schematica, and that some players are using it in SKCraft. Schematica is a mod that can show you a hologram of a schematic file in your world, or in a server. This can be used to build something more easily. For instance, you can build something in Creative Mode, or use MCEdit, then save a schematic and re-build it in Survival Mode. Now I'm completely fine with that. But it appears that there is also an 'auto-build' function in the mod. This function places the blocks for you, as long as you supply them. Now my question is: do the rules allow this? Because I think it's basically building in creative mode (especially if you're at an endgame point), which, I think, gives you an (unfair?) advantage over other players. And that's what's not allowed by the rules. TL;DR: A mod can load schematics and can display or auto-build them for you, and I don't like that. So what do you guys think? Should a mod like this be allowed or prohibited?
If we're at endgame point we're already basically in creative. Gravi ensures that fact. all this does is allow you to do it a little faster. Whats wrong with that? It's basically an autoclicker. If you're placing 59 thousand blocks it would get rather painfull on your fingers lol
I didn't know that mod Evan did that is it a new feature ? i don't see a point in trying to stop it would be needlessly hard and if someone finds a game playing itself fun instead of i don't know playing it themselves let them, just let them know they have reached the pinnacle of lazy.
Back when I played PC games as a kid if you used any type of bot you were a weak gamer; I think the same applies to minecraft today. But what do I know about gaming. As far as the mod goes who cares? Only a few people are fully utilizing their shops in the market and by that I mean maybe 5 of the 50 shops have someone who uses them fully. (None of which are in this thread so far, myself included.) If they're using a bot to place blocks for a 'creative' build odds are like Alice 1.2.5 by August they wont even be around much, if at all.
Why not? I'm not very creative when it comes to building pretty structures. But I do enjoy modifying and adding functionality to existing buildings. I was going to try and import a castle this weekend so I could play around with it.
I suppose it's not an issue on Alice because everyone's spread out. On Vincent, everyone was centered around large cities around spawn, and it would have been fairly lame if most of the buildings were just other people's work.
