I literally can not find any pink slime balls? i need a load of them for slime blocks, does anyone have some i could maybe trade something for i dont have that much but still. or could someone tell me/help me in where to find them? Thanks
For faster response, you should contact someone on our Discord server. However, if you're playing on Alice, I don't really recommend it. It has a lot of performance problems at the moment and we're thinking about replacing the server with a new modpack.
I would not recommend playing on Alice anymore as i think it is going to be replaced sooner than later with a new modpack without GregTech maybe also i am working on a replacement for GregTech and it is going to be called Thecow275's Electrica it is going to be standalone and IT WILL NOT include parts of GT like different metal armors and gem armors also it is going to be using IC2 EU and Buildcraft, Thermal Expansion, etch RF as its power as a alternative also it is going to include a standalone power system named RE (Redstone Empower) also it is going to be missing many of GT machines and such and it is going to be made lightweight and i am currently making it for 1.8.9 version of the game so not 1.7.X builds or 1.9.X builds 1.9 maybe... in future and it is going to be as i stated Standalone but still an IC2 Addon and as ive heard IC2 will adopt many of GTs parts in it like some tools plates and machines but in a more lightweight fashion and gt will continue but im making a lightweight version of gt and make it in java limits unlike GT which overflows memory as the code isnt the cleanest as it has been updated so many times and has possibly been rewritten many times but not from scratch as i have compared the source code of different versions. I am sorry for my grammar and mistakes im not a native english speaker but i know how you code java right so i know what id call JAVA grammar
Ok a few things, why is it being replaced it all runs perfectly fine for me apart from a couple of times? ive been on almost everyday for the last few weeks. Also i was just wondering if i could get the map file if you were getting rid of it? A modpack me and my team have created contains mostly the same mods, i just want to be able to continue my survival "quest"
As long as you're (any anyone else) is playing, @Foden789, we won't shut it down. The main problem has been that, when the server has more players, GregTech causes the server's performance to drop considerably. One big reason -- but only one of many -- is that GregTech hooks into crafting recipes and therefore is activated every time a crafting recipe is involved, and GregTech's code that handles crafting is awfully slow (lots of GregTech is unfortunately slow). Crafting is, as you can imagine, happens a lot, but it also is invoked in some unusual circumstances, such as when a Autonomous Activator needs to simulate a weapon or tool, therefore requiring a "virtual player," which re-loads crafting data. For that reason, we sort of paused new applications for the past few months to let the population of Alice wind down. Six months back, the server was pretty constantly freezing up every second. It might still freeze because of people's old bases that are chunk loaded (that's also a can of worms, because Ender Quarries end up chunk loading peoples' bases indirectly). Our vanilla server, Vincent, had also been stopped so there weren't really anywhere for new applicants to play on. Now like I said, as long as people are playing Alice, we won't be shutting it down any time soon. The reason why I marked it as "temporarily unavailable" on the site because Alice can't really handle a lot of players online. If other people want to connect (i.e. @Gwolfski), Alice is still up at alice.sk89q.com. If anyone needs help, then just post on the forums or ask on our Discord server. (We also get on TeamSpeak at night usually, American time @ voice.skq.me / password: eduardo) What I'm currently considering right now is starting a second modded skyblock server, possibly with a modpack we didn't create ourselves this time though (don't have time right now to build a new modpack from scratch). If that's the case, I might mark Alice as available again but with a warning to new players, then I'll spin up advertising and see if we can get more players.
You can use an MFR Slaughterhouse to produce the Pink Slime. http://ftbwiki.org/Slaughterhouse Kill cows with the machine in order to produce it. You will need to make a bucket full of slime to spawn a pink slime, then kill it for the slime balls!
Its fine for me, there's the odd time where it says not responding but it doesn't happen often and only lasts for like a second or 2, I've been playing it like i said for the past 2/3 weeks and loving it, although there's never anyone on its a bit lonely
I miss Alice, it was lonely for me too because my friends lagged, I was hoping to invite some more but it seems like a bad idea(?) after reading sk8's post. I wish it could remain or be relaunched without gregtech.
