Lol. Well ores are spawning in veins. when u find vein you are pretty much set thats meaning you are just lazzy person if like 1000 could figured it out and got even to asteroid belt than why cant you ? Just saing that you rly need do something to make progress in game not just sit in your hole and do nothing This is minecraft its about exploring not about quarry doing shit for you man!
Bro I found iron on like the second day on being on LR's server! You can't do what you did. You have to just cave and cave until you find ores. Do you know how long it took me to find tin though, on my own world? Several weeks. It only spawns above a certain height and is almost indistinguishable from stone. Now I'm looking for Naqudadah so I can start building stargates.
as Talons said ... you just cant do that ... there is chunk / biome always so like tin only spaws in hills an also only in certain height . As i said its about looking not sitting in hole
No, it's not a biome thing, that was removed. It's a height thing. Also iron isn't one ore, it's a big mix of different ore types and it's difficult to differentiate it from stone too.
We have an Intel E3-1270v2 and 32GB of RAM Basically an i7 3770 Minecraft runs from an SSD It was the best singl core performing cpu when we got it!
Not surprised about that considering your batshit insane PC... and you can probably afford an equally insane server.
For Penagwin: i decided that finding iron with greg is easy. I just joined one server with GT (for first time) hit /rtp , found cave and in like 7 minutes i found cave with all iron you would wish. http://imgur.com/a/cnL1F It's just to prove that it is possible . Ps I'm also running smoth 60 fps all the time
Well, it says 65536 MB... that's 64GB, not 32. Also an i7 3960 Extreme? Those things used to be worth more than a whole intermediate level gaming PC. OC'd to 4.2 GHz nonetheless. Yeah okay, the cards are meh, but good enough for Minecraft and many modern games too. As far as I know punk likes to "multibox" Minecraft, i.e. run like 20 instances of Minecraft at once for various advantages. I know that, on Alice, he had at least 2 alternative accounts he used to login and idle with, as basically free chunk loaders. This behaviour favours a strong CPU and tons of RAM. The graphics card is less important. Anyway, we're totally off topic now. Personally I don't really want GregTech back, regardless of it being a CPU hog/lag producer/whatever. GT used to be the mod to keep one occupied for a very long time but I have since become more interested in actually progressing instead of tedious, miniscule steps towards a small goal, mostly due to lack of time; and I also have different interests now - I don't simply want to build machines anymore like I used to, now I also want to make stuff look good, and this takes up quite a bit of time.
Heh. Well i just spend 2 hours running on one server which i joined and after 2 hours I had 1 and half stack of iron and tin, 31 copper and bunch of other shit. It's all about running around and finding caves. Basicly if stuff is too easy ppl just gonna left game after one month. It's all about luck and seeing stuff. I know that ppl dont have bunch of time but... don't tell me that you don't have at least 1 hour per day.
not my server theirs ~ Processor: Intel Xeon E5 1620v2 (4 cores / 8 Threads) Frequency: 3.7GHz+ (3.9GHz Turbo Boost) RAM: 32 GB DDR3~
If I can run the server on a $50 AMD Phenom 9500 with 8GB DDR2 with a few players then I'm pretty sure it can be run on SKCraft's E5 with a few dozen players lol
Don't you think the MPT did a bit of testing before taking IC2/GT out of the modpack? It may run fine by itself but it probably doesn't play well with 200 other mods, some of which can also be resource hogs. Also we literally have dozens of players when a new modpack version gets released along with a server reset, which is crazy on performance - it's not like they're simply running around and loading chunks, everyone has machines and stuff. It was tested and deemed unadequate. Simple as that. Personal opinion doesn't matter. A few people, myself not included, may like the new IC2, so if the performance had been alright it would have been added.
Nobody likes new ic2. Nobody. But gregtech is okay. Old Greg (1.4 and 1.5) was best. Blech, at least he is going to add stargates.
A few of us have mentioned that we've been checking out packs with GT, and I know BR has 100 or so mods alongside it, don't remember an exact number, could be sub-200.. I get your point about the fact that we get a lot of players though, but I've seen some of the official Beyond Reality servers with a steady ~50 players most of the time. Granted I haven't actually played on them, but I somehow doubt they're all just dumb lagfests lol I mean if GT's doom (hue) has been decided and it's not up for discussion anymore, this topic should be closed.
