Could be quite a few things, but the one issues that covers all bases is your Internet. Either you have a terrible ISP (or bad router), or you have been unlucky enough to have all possible issues line up at once.

I had a similar problem. Wasn't my ISP, it was my Teleco's dodgy wiring insulated with plastic bags that would fill up during the rain. Took them 3 months of calling out incompetent Telstra technicians that said it was our ISP (ISP said it was our Teleco) until finally someone with a brain fixed it.

Quite an ordeal actually, hope you don't have as much as a problem as I did!

P.S. Moral of the story: Don't use Telstra for line rental.
P.P.S. Telstra is the only provider for 3/4 of Australia, including me -.-

Wow mans thats bad, i always hate it when the companies do that luckily i don't have 'as' quite a bad time as that because i route my internet signal i get from my phone (iphone) through my computer so i don't have to dead with companies and 3rd parties.

But i have had my fair deal of ordeals of the sorts but i hope you don't have that problem again man.

At least it's fixed now and works fine :D. The thing that finally got them to do something was when I posted on their Facebook page and got loads of people to like my post (giving them bad publicity). Funny thing is Telstra owns 'BigPond' (ridiculously overpriced broadband) and when people have a problem there, then they help without a fuss.

I've thought about using tethered internet before, but anything mobile in general such as broadband in Australia is either good service, bad price or bad service, good price (if service was good). And I'm quite happy with my ISP anyways (took a while to hunt them down).

oh ok well thats good you got its sorted out cause that was the right thing to do because major companies hate bad publicity.

But yeah for me my internet is one of the best i've had in ages (the fastest too) so i was lucky to get my contract for a good price with having all internet tethering and mobile usage free. But yeah if you happy why change eh? ;)

Maybe something to do with Mojang's "account migration". Try logging in with your e-mail rather than username.
