Some of the team members are having second thoughts about the mod OpenBlocks.

Some of the familiar stuff that the mod adds are:
    • Elevators
    • Block Placer/Breaker
    • Sprinkler
    • Tanks
    • Rope Ladder
    • Radio ( although we have an alternative right now)
    • Village Highlighter
    • Canvas ( paint etc. )
    • Hang Glider
    • Sleeping Bag
    • Slimalyzer
    • And the Holographic Maps stuff
Put your votes on the poll.

Elevators alone make the mod worth it. The ability to rapidly ascend/descend at little cost, and without being intrusive is indispensable, to the point where I literally build my bases around them. I don't even remember the last time I had stairs in my base.

But... we have this mod already. Been using the hang glider since the beginning of this modpack version, and everyone uses elevator blocks.

Yes, we have it, however this iteration of the modpack it's under consideration.

Yes, Fans and Tanks that have proven to be laggy will be disabled.

No, openblocks is way to widely used anymore. It provides too many easy shortcuts to do things that other mods already provide options for with just a little more work needed.

What are you referring to? OpenBlocks doesn't add many technical blocks if not any, it's pretty much just QoL blocks.

Crops is the first thing that comes to mind with OpenBlocks, though I might be confusing it with RandomThings but I'm fairly sure the sprinkler was OpenBlocks you could pair it with the watering can and other crop growth mods which was and still is needless. Fans pushed mobs in to spike deathtraps which made for free mob farms. I'm sure i'm missing something.

My initial reaction to the thought of not having openblocks was that openblocks is pretty much essential, but I think I disagree now.

TE has tanks and replaces the elevators with it's plates. The hang glider I love, but can live without, rope ladder is horrible, sprinkler is OP, fans are laggy, paint is a nice idea but never really looks good, and everything else is just... meh.

I think it could probably be left out without to much heartache, and may possibly even benefit the server's performance.

Fan's, Tanks, Elevators, Block Breakers... They all can be replaced with other mods. The hang glider and angel blocks are nice, but even those have similar alternatives in other mods.

TBH I only ever used the hang glider and elevator. I'd be okay with everything but these being disabled. Maybe make the hang glider a bit more expensive, some leather (which you can get by smelting rotten flesh) and sticks is way too cheap for how useful the glider is.

You mean like an iridium reinforced aircraft grade plate and cryotheum infused tungstate rods to construct it?

There were days back when iridium was a resource you needed for end-tier stuff that I imagined quitting Minecraft, going out into the real world, meeting a girl at a coffee shop, becoming friends, then more than friends.

Then the inevitable, I pop the question, to which I receive a heartfelt 'yes'. The wedding is the happiest in her life, and my parents acknowledge that I'm now truly an equal and have come of age.

The honeymoon is the stuff of legends, where we play a game as to how many places we can do it without getting caught. A couple weeks later, and she's late with her period, she pees on a stick, and we get the +. I help her through months of morning sickness, aching backs, hormones, the works. I attend all the medical checkups, the breathing classes, the shopping for baby supplies.

The birth is on camera, and is thankfully relatively short and without complication. After a couple days we go home, and promptly pass out from exhaustion. A few hours later, I wake up in a start, but then rest easy knowing it wasn't a dream, and that I'm the luckiest man in the world... because now I can sell the child on the black market so that I have enough money to hire some other ****** to go about getting iridium, because I'd rather void my own fantasy and castrate myself than go through the IC2 nightmare again.

I was thinking of Ludicrite plating and Galgadorian/Shiny alloy rods.

But really, maybe iron rods instead of sticks would be nice. Just punching a tree and already having half the materials for the glider seems too easy, so you should at least have to find some iron. Or maybe some other material that can be found on the surface but isn't as simple as a stick, so you don't have to go mining if you want to live far away from spawn.

The leather isn't all that bad if I think about it, you need to farm cows or kill zombies to get it, both of which isn't all too easy in the beginning. Usually everything around spawn is already genocided 5 minutes after the server launches, so you'd have to travel a bit to find cows, and our low enemy spawn rate makes zombies difficult to find.

    I... wow. Alright.

IC2-exp progression is a nightmare, I can agree on that. IC2 classic wasn't half bad in my opinion.

IC2 in 1.2.5 was good and I would have also considered it as a necessary mod in any pack at that time. Ever since the experimental release for 1.4.7 things have just worsened as time has gone on, several years later and there is still a broken energy net! Not sure what they have been doing for that length of time but it must be scratching their arses opposed to fixing the enet that's for sure.

I actually still really enjoy IC2 for it's endgame stuff and energy grid setups.
