Welcome to the future of modded Minecraft (and eventually Minecraft itself at this rate). At least Forge recently added a detailed loading screen. I doubt Alice players will be seeing it any time soon, though.
Well, if Alice really starts with a nice custom/ public modpack, let's say 1.4.7 FTB Ultimate *COUGH COUGH*, I'd come back as player and as mod.
If there was a server that was refreshed and that didnt lag I think quite a few players would return.
What's wrong with the newer mods? EnderIO is pretty good, in my opinion. This is really can't be helped. There will always be players causing lag, building ridiculous things.
Newer mods are fine; I think it's more about the 'old' mods that have disappeared or changed drastically since then.
I've had some great times here. REAL shame to see things winding down. This has got to be one of the best communities I've played on in my nearly two decades of gaming.
Such is life, time availability becomes scarce and the last thing you end up wanting to do at the end of a long day is grind away a couple hours just resource gathering. Not to say that I didn't enjoy my time with you guys here, I've just lost a lot of interest in Minecraft myself. Leiser tries to get me back into it and it works for like a week (lol), then the interest vanishes again. I think a public modpack would keep at least the community alive just a little longer and bring in some new faces in the process.
