if i may say something as the common unknown, classic server sounds beautiful, wether its 1.2.5 or 1.4.7.
Yes because: If it's "only" about reviving the alice community, I can imagine, that quite a few poeple will come back because of GT, the Bee stuff and Redpower. Redpower, Dude! As for myself I can only say, I'd enjoy a new trial of 1.4.7, since I didn't get to play this version much (and "someone" had a heavily poisonous effect on the community back then). Nay, Because: Yet, I think a launch of an older Alice version would be sadly only a temporal help for the community feeling. IIrc, an update was pushed because GT and RP ( frame borers mostly) caused too much lag- wich was caused some players to leave or simply not being able to play. ( Oh, wait, wasn't the Buildcraft Pipes with chips a thing, too?) Edit: About the " challenges" arguement i can say: i totally forgot how to build a non-AE sorting system. (Redpower, Dude!) That's my 2 cents.

In past times, these words were used to answer a positive question ("are you well?") and "yes" and "no" were used to answer a negative question ("are you not well/unwell?"). The more you know ~~☆ </offtopic> Absolutely. I really miss that stuff (minus the bees, never used 'em), even if it's super tedious. But it's always been part of the charme of modded Minecraft for me and without it I will never feel the same playing modded Minecraft again. Though I must say that I really love some of the newer mods, like Mekanism, or how Thaumcraft works nowadays. Playing modded Minecraft is not worse without IC2/GT, just different. We know about this issue and we can simply disable that. Quarries are good enough in my opinion, and not as laggy as frame world eaters.
At this moment nothing. Path is the only mod that would like to change anything. Most others are absent or don't like the idea.
According to the survey, 34 players would like to have a 1.4.7 server. That's probably more people than the login count per week on current Alice... multiple logins by the same player counted in. If the current server runs like shit and not even two people are online at the same time, why not have an old server that did run and is wanted by the majority of our community?
Because f*ck 'em, that's why. Also because anyone with administrative access either: Left Is too busy doing things that actually matter in the modding community Is too busy IRL. That's also a thing Doesn't want to manage it anymore Doesn't want to bother with Alice's problems in general anymore. SK has admitted several times that he doesn't really want to cope with the endless bugs, crashes and lag that Alice suffers of, and that Vincent is much more pleasant to manage at this point. Don't pretend older versions didn't have any problems just because you haven't played it since forever. He also likely wouldn't just add someone else to the console access. Especially when he's not here as much anymore to keep an eye on them. If you're so sure you can handle it, though, don't hesitate contacting him directly via PM or email instead of bragging about it in the shoutbox.
I would never start my own minecraft community lol I would just start something here, but I get the impression that 1.4.7 would be a five minute wonder
