What if we disabled every type of teleportation and used Railcraft as means to getting things around?
*Warning, incoming sarcasm* OMG SOMEBODY FINALLY FIGURED IT OUT! The ENTIRE point of disabling (at least most) teleportation is to encourage railcraft. Having four main portals may be a good idea however, because otherwise the tracks would be long from one side of the world to another. Moving afk players to spawn for chunk loading reasons is a must. Those players should be teleported home the moment they are no longer afk though, we don't want to hurt players for being afk, just help the server.
Alright cool. In the event of a pipe becoming unloaded or items fly everywhere, what preemptive steps will you take to ensure the lag will be minimal? Will chunk loaders other than quarries be allowed in the Mining World? If so, what will the limitation be?
I was thinking only the frame quarries would be allowed. Chunk loading only when players are online and not afk(This last part may take a modification or two to chickenchunks) Working on my mod right now, one possible feature is that if a chunk gets more then X number of EntityItem then it will make a block in an empty area, that cannot be opened but has all of the items in it to be pulled out by a pipe system.
Frame Quarries are laggy as **** even when one person uses them. If everyone has to soon the server will become unplayable.
Mods are in. Configuration is the part nobody wants to do. What items do you think should be enabled or disabled?

*disclaimer* i am probably the least qualified person to review this so take it with a grain of wheat or whatever they say. also sorry for being a grammar nazi I would add TE when the conduits come out (if they ever) and then remove tubes, but as of now the mod list seems solid. Disable BC quarrys to make people use mining lasers. it would add gameplay time by mining and also it would add a reason to make lots of power. Disable all forms of item teleportation and make people use Railcraft. I've always loved the idea of Railcraft but it never really had a use because tessaracts and other OP tping stuff (i too did this) I mean think about it what is cooler a bunch of pipes going into a block or a complex setup with rails dropping things off at different stations around your base? Railcraft would promote a lot of infrastructure to build aswell as rewarding a well laid out base. I have no idea how Railcraft affects the performance of the mod pack.(maybe people used tessaracts for a reason) Edit: I think the secret to having a fun experience is not all the grindyness of crafting and and gathering recources but building and automating your base. Like how many of you play with legos much after you build them? same point. I think AE made making the infrastructure of your base too easy and fast (although AE2 fixes some of that) so I am glad you left that out for this pack.
Why mining lasers? Why not making your own frame quarry? We should have a mod in there for that. TE pipes are not as close to redpower as tubes. TE pipes are too compact. You can pull items, push items, and sort items, along with redstone control x5 (connection to another pipe is 6) with a single pipe. That is way too OP. Even buildcraft pipes are better. EDIT: Love your ideas and feedback btw.
I am very new to modded mc (1.6) so i have no idea what actually using redpower ic2 BC and the earlier mods is like so my knowledge is limited there. Imo its fine to nerf pipes and logistical items i actually like the challenge. The only real problem with the quarrys is that they leave a gaping hole in the ground (unless we have a mining world as well)
