I'm just gonna preface this with I know how busy SK and the other mods are at the minute, and appreciate all their work. But I would like to know what's actually going on with Alice at the minute; if it's up it's laggy and if it's down then it's down for a damn long time.
it keeps going up and then i can play for some time and it just randomly stops :S Every mod is busy atm and they all try to do there best. Christmas time if there is anyway i am able to help, i am glad too
Sigh, most of the mods are not busy, I think they just moved on since the server died(as in, people left). From my understanding, there's only 3 people that has access to console: Tonius(who has now retired from staff), Afk89q(who's always busy) and Path(who can't Java).... GG us. P.S. Most of the mods can't Java P.S.2 Cromy could have gotten access to Console but he was like: NOOOOO I hate SSH. P.S.3 Server wouldn't come back in a while, don't expect it. Anyways, my conclusion is that we need a better server(physically) DDDD
I'm in the same situation as Penagwin, I'm quite happy to look at it if I'm allowed to; while I mainly do C# stuff nowadays I learned on Java so it should still be in there somewhere...
from the rumour i have heard i get why tonius "retired" and yes it isnt an easy job to maintain a server. most people arent even happy that they can play so much and people do this stuff for free. it is not like this is there permanent job. they take some of there free time and spent it to the common good and as a result we can enjoy our free time. #BeGratefullForWhatOthersOffer i am sure the staff will do there utmost best to get it working again.
That is true, most people seem to be ungrateful and ignorant of the work sk and others have done for us, which is exactly why I don't want Pengawin starting another server(in the "Alice Changes" thread. The thing I want most to achieve is for Alice return to the good and glorius times where we had 80+ online right after a reset and have a stable population of 30 until the end of that Version....But at the moment, the mods seems to be bored of SKC which is why I think that the Mod team need "fresh blood". But then again Sk doesn't seem to trust any other to run the server other than himself so....yea...
Alice is a dead horse. Has been since mid 1.5 or so. Just keeps on getting kicked because 'muh community' or something. Other than being busy, sk is literally running out of options to try for optimizing or fixing the server (that don't involve building a new ultralight modpack or rewriting the server software from scratch).
Ok tonius, I see your point. SK and no other moderator is by no means required to do anything for us at all. You could all packup, leave, shutdown alice, vincent, skcraft all together. We shouldn't hate any of you for it, we should thank you for your time. People will complain, can't stop that, sorry. I'm just trying to help with those complaints, since people are complaining, but no current staff member is helping (Once again, no staff member is required to).
i dont think this is correct, i dont hate you and i am sure there is lost of others that dont. people sure like to complain but there is also people who are gratefull for what you have done in the past. like i mentiond in an earlier post. you mods spent your spare free time that make other people enjoy their so. yea i am gratefull for every time a mod fixes a problem.
