What version of OSX are you running? Apple only supports Java releases back a few versions.

10.7.5, but I'm fairly certain that this isn't Java's fault.

I've had some pretty bizarre problems running Alice on Macs (one time, the render distance defaulted to a negative value), but I'm not familiar with this error. Looks like a version error of some kind. Your Java install is up to date, someone with more experience if gonna have to help you.

Talons, try to use Java 7 (7u65 works fine). Java 6 looks incompatible with new version of the server, so I think this is a time to change minimum requirements on this page, http://skcraft.com/welcome/.

That would be a valid issue if I could even launch the game to try to get on the server. I will update to Java7 when I wake up tomorrow, and then I'll report back.

I'm a PROUD Mac user and to solve this issue, alongside downloading the latest JDK version of Java 7 (not JRE), you have to set the JVM Path setting in the SKC launcher to "/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/jdk1.7.0_67.jdk/Contents/Home/bin/java" assuming that you are using Java 7 Update 67.

From then on, it should function perfectly fine - the problem is that by default it attempts using the Java 6 that is built into the Mac OS. By simply changing it to use Java 7, everything works out.

Talons, under "new version of the server" I meant new version of the mod pack. I think some mods are not compatible with Java 6.

Siioh, I had some problems using Java 7 Update 67, downgrading to 7u65 solved them.

I'm unsure if you're using a Mac or a PC, but 7u67 works for me on a Mac. I recommend trying 7u67 before resorting to 7u65 @Talons for the sake of possible performance updates between the two versions. Of course, if 7u67 has bugs/doesn't work - simply switch to 7u65 like CNoise said and that should be the end of this problem.

7u65 will prevent random dc's from the server that happens with 7u67.

Updating to Java 8 worked, but it took literally (as in, literally, not figuratively) 20+ minutes to launch
