Everyone can keep a maximum of 11 chunks loaded. The chunks will only load when the owner is on the server. The idea is to be able to have your machines work when you're playing, while not requiring you to be at home all the time. ComputerCraft This update is a big one. A lot of things have changed internally in ComputerCraft. Without a doubt, some programs or setups will break because of this, so don't be surprised if your code breaks. Mekanism Because of a change in this mod, IC2 machines will not be able to output power into Universal Cables. To still have this functionality, you will have to connect a cable to the output face of an EU storage block. After that, you need to set the Universal Cable to PULL mode using a Configurator. Note that this is unrelated to cables not being able to power IC2 machines. This is fixed now.
what does it mean disable igneous extruder crafting are they disabled I loved them and did not think they were overpowered.. please do not disable them!!! but thanks for making an awesome server anyway
Use transfer nodes. They are much faster and less laggy cobblestone generators. They are not hard to set up, ask people ingame.
Hmm, seems like I'll have to have a dedicated smeltery to obsidian making now...shouldn't be that bad. Overall this update looks awesome.
why disable igneous extruder ? only thing i use that works worth a damm also idr if they fixed it but.... Shift clicking on a node with another node will crash your game. (03/2014)
I'm glad you guys balanced out the nerds quite a bit. Chunkloaders? Finally. Now people will be less inclined to use five different alts at once (hue). About the Igneous Extruders: To people who are panicking and hiding under desks from this disable Extra Utilities Transfer Nodes are exponentially more powerful and less laggy than Extruders. To set one up, dig a 3x1 trench with lava on one side, cobblestone in the center, and water on the other side. It can be in any shape as long as it follows this format. More lava/water will not help. Put a transfer node on top of the cobblestone and connect it to whatever. Adding mining upgrades to the transfer node will increase the amount of cobblestone produced. (64 mining upgrades = 64 cobble per operation, 32 upgrades = 32 cobble per, etc.) Adding speed upgrades will make it find inventories and transfer the cobble to them faster. Connecting one of these to a smelter of any kind will reproduce "smoothstone mode" at the cost of energy instead of lava. Neither lava nor water is consumed in this setup if you do it properly. To MPT: What do you recommend for automated obsidian production now? Also, the update to Rotarycraft should hopefully increase client performance from rendering, according to Reika. I hope this will lessen the chance of the mod being removed!
well this is a double edged sword! great it's reducing server lag but would never have happened with automation of sorts
Node + recycler + massfab, the setup that we like. http://i.imgur.com/AiXvi05.png About obsidian gen, well, either vanilla or mariculture's Vat ... The things nerfed/changed have been listed in Tonius' post. RotaryCraft update to v20 changed many value, including bedrock breaker power requirement, and the magnetostatic engine that need tier upgrade to be efficient.
Yeah... RotaryCraft update is the Tedium Update. You now need a whole room of automation just to use the magnetostatic engines you already had set up. Fermenters, Magnetizers (which take hours no matter what), etc.. Now I have to make a bunch of new engines to power the process needed to make use of the engines I already had, because I can't power any of the machines with the nerfed-tier-0 magnetostatics. Not to sound too whiny, because I know I'll just be told "omfg stop whining and deal with it" (which I am, dealing with it) did Reika befriend Greg?
So now I need to run my reactor and wait 10 hours to get a sizeable quantity of smoothstone? Ehhhhhhhhhh no.
With an elite factory and the speed that the cobble gen makes cobble it will certainly not be 10hours lol
Reactor and 10 hours are meant to be separate. I was attempting to point out: -IC2 doesn't work with mek cables for the time being -Whatchumacallit's furnaces work uber slow -Mek stuff takes lots of power when I can be getting smooth stone for free ala extruder
Hm... better login today and do some maintenance on my base, wind turbines will more or less be useless now I guess
Talons: Since the reactor outputs many times the power the elite factory needs, a correctly configured BR will shut itself off when it is creating excess power. You can run the reactor 24/7 and not waste a single ingot of Yellorium. Would you like me to help you set that up? It's just two redstone ports and two pieces of redstone, and some settings. Edit: a passive BR can provide any amount of power with no waste. An active BR creating steam on a Turbine wastes a lot of power if it shuts off and on all the time. While active power is much more efficient than passive, it cannot be turned down easily. If you have frequently changing power needs, and don't want to invest in a lot of batteries/cells, then passive BR power ends up notably more efficient than active.
