alright, come up with another exploration replacement, that's fun, & has as much stuff as Choco/Twilight. I'm all ears~
Actually the server wouldn't disappear with the removal of chocolate quest, you just wouldn't have the dungeons. Anyhow, having a laggy server really makes more people mad, since you can die more easily, and no one really likes rubberbanding blocks.
Who said we needed a replacement...this server is mostly based upon industrialization after all. In my opinion, "git rid of et", if that's the only way to fix the server.
well as a member from Australia, i'm used to shit tons of lag. So are the rest of us. i was talking about a viable replacement for the mod, so people still have something exploration-y to do. (the quicker the problem's found/removed, the quicker the server's up, right?)
Multiple people have expressed opinion that they don't mind the removal of the mod, but would appreciate a replacement. I'm only suggesting.
I personally haven't seen a single CQ dungeon that hasn't been raided already in hours upon hours of traveling the world. Anyways, if it brings the server back up - remove it. It seems slightly poorly made/buggy anyways from what I've seen. A replacement like Twilight Forest wouldn't be too bad, but if it causes quite a bit of lag forget it.
Though Twilight Forest WOULD be nice, if it causes too much lag or just isn't possible, i'm sure we won't be too heartbroken. I just want the server up!~
Chocolate quest has been cool, but I have not really found myself using anything from it. The bubble gun entertained me for about 5 mins, the wands are meh, armor is substandard compared to what is available. Other than the occasional dungeon (Which from what I have seen are very rare to begin with, I have only ran into 3 or 4) I haven't been using it at all. Twilight adds a whole new dimension, not to mention tons of items. Most of the mod would need to be disabled for balance reasons anyway. The dome hills are potentially deadly to the economy, and the twilight forest would probably be devastated within a week or two, basically extremely profitable for the first few people that get to it, almost nothing left except for mobs after that short period of time. To me twilight forest and chocolate quest are in two different ballparks meant to fill two different purposes.
I think "raidable" locations should regenerate somehow. We could have special world only for exploration which would be reset each X period of time.
And due to rendering you could even limit the size of that world. If you reset it every week it will be just as much fun. EDIT: It actualy is as far as i'm concerned.
resetting an entire dimension weekly, would require players to re-explore chunks, which is already enough of a strain on the server. like i said before, set a worldborder for the world, and /wb twilightforest fill. then just let that run & it generates the chunks for you :3 (do it on a private machine or something though, to avoid lagging the server)
This thread is about removing Choco Quest to get server back up. Especially we want to know how much rage to expect when deleting all the loot stored here and there. All input on that special matter are greatly appreciated Since we want to have some adventure gameplay, we will take any suggestions (like Twilight Forest) but wont add anything soon anyway. Most important thing now is to restart Alice asap
Well if you figure a way to use Twilight Forest, i'm sure we'd be very grateful~ Thanks for all you're doing <3
No, absolutely not. The deep dark has 2x ore gen in the whole world, the dome hills have MASSIVE amounts of ores and resources in one single location. It would only take me a day or two to go scoop all of them up in the twilight forest. I know they were thinking about adding dimensional doors, don't they have some dungeons?
It would take longer than that to hit all of them. But to be honest, I've run TF in the past, the Dome Hills at THIS point in the game are almost ignorable. Drop it like the hot potato it is. It's more an additional entertainment value than any real core aspect to Alice.
