    • How many people are having connection issues?
    • How bad is it? How frequent?
    • And where do you live in the world?
I am considering moving the server back to the location in New York. It has a worse CPU, but a lot of people are back at school now and we may not have many lag problems.

perhaps make a poll about it?

i.e option one: yes, very frequent
    option two:yes, every so often
    option three: no

FuzzyHarpyBug and Mheracai both live in Alaska, we have cycling lag and can actually mine/place blocks for about 15 seconds once every 2 minutes. Frame-rate is perfect, and haven't noticed any problems with chat-lag.

Eh for me, sometimes I'm having problems where I connect and it will do heavy lag and disconnect me. I need to relog 5-6 times for this to be fixed.

Having lag at different times of the day sometimes ill break blocks and wont realized im lagging until i break 20 or so blocks and then it all regenerate. Other times its fine. I think late at night around 12 am EST its fine but during the day its horrid.
    Live in PA
ping test to alice.sk89q.com results in 140 -160ms (i guess it ends up pinging puffin.sk89q)

At times i think the lag is better than it was and other times its worse, i dont know if removing chunkloaders had anything to do with the help or not

    • No idea
    • It's terrible most of the times it happens, but it's also quite fickle. One day it's fine, the next day it's fine for a few hours, the day after that it's fine for minutes, the day after that it literally spams the welcome message 6 times for a few hours then magically goes to hyperspeed for the rest of the day
    • NSW, Australia. Maybe get a Sydney mirror?

Lag out after a set amount of time (may be my ISP booting me, I'm not sure) and get connection reset.
    Location:UK
The connection is worse (i.e. I get disconnected more when using the Alice.sk... than the puffin.sk...)

the past few days I'm having severe issues from home on my pc.. I understand this is a more intense server and some lag is expected ..... but half the time I can't even work cause the chunk i'm needing to place blocks on goes invisible......
while all the other nearby chunks are visible, when I move the new chunk vanishes and the old one becomes visible..

when I am at work playing on the laptop i'm lucky if I can even get the launcher to work and log in for 5 mins

I live in norway, 60/60 fibre internet. When the server hasn't been restarted for a while, it freezes (unresponsive) about 5-15 seconds every minute. Doesn't matter how many people are on, always does. When it restarts it's fine for hours. The TPS is fine, just the ic2 lag spikes are bad. :p

I live in Spain and usually only notice block lag at the same time as everybody else is having it.
I seldom get disconnected or whatever.

Bandwidth usage recently increased for me by a lot. My latest measurement shows that alice is eating up 1 mb/s on average, which is quite worrying, because my daily download limit is only 3GB and alice can now chew through it very fast.

This is my latest measurement. First half of the graph is with before I joined the server and the second half is while I was playing. I was standing in my base (chunk coords X568 Z56) and there were no other network applications running.

What can be causing this ? How can I avoid it ?
