Here's what happening with the next version of Alice: Alice 1.5 (later to be 1.6) will be run on a separate server. Alice 1.4 will continue as normal. There will no item or build transfers. It will essentially be a full reset. We are aiming to open the server tomorrow (or at worst, the day afterwards), Pacific Daylight Time (UTC -0700). When we can, we will update Alice 1.5 to 1.6 We have no plans to update Alice 1.4 to 1.5. You will start with beginner items as you did on 1.4.
Beta normally given to something that is released but has yet to be finished. So no, 1.5 will be treated as like any other major reset with new spawn an everything, but with the regards of definitively resetting when 1.6 comes around. 1.4 will stay until it is depreciated and people stop playing on it to a point. -edit- According to sk, we might not need to because he says and I quote "The forge server was shit"

That vote was not definitive in any way. That is just what people wanted, but we made the final decision to do 2 servers.
Don't get why you need any sort of start pack at all... should start with nothing but your bare hands
When the 1.4 server does go down will there be something like a map download or something of the sorts? Hey, I'm already on holiday
Yes I know, but it's a definite no, especially with how easy getting MJ is. Possibly. But the world file is too large for a regular download, so sk was deciding if it would be a torrent, but it still needs the initial seed.
How are we going to get the the 1.5 server when it comes up? will someone post that long number thing? (please forgive my noobishness)
