We're currently in the process of building a new spawn for Minecraft 1.5. While I asked for builders in a previous thread, a lot of this is impromptu and we need to all be on at relatively the same time. If you want to help build spawn, find sk89q in TeamSpeak when you see him and send him some screenshots. You can see the list of people in TeamSpeak without getting on on the SKCraft frontpage, on the right side, if you're logged in. You do not have to speak with a microphone, but it'd be helpful. We're going for an Asian/Japanese style for spawn.
Live voice chat is easier/better/faster for getting ideas across. This is the most important part, I think. I was working on the new Bazaar last night. I got a bunch of stuff built before SK came online. When he came over to check out what I had done he asked me to move it to a different location. Fortunately we have WorldEdit so I didn't have to re-do much of my work. It's changes like that, that can really kill your motivation if you have invested a lot of time into something that needs a major change.
Also we want really good builders doing it. If we set it so anyone could access, we'd have to delete so much junk it wouldn't be funny. This way we get guaranteed good builders doing it, and that means less supervising.
Unfortunately, a lot of the times, someone builds something ugly and then I have to remove it. That rarely ends well.
Would it be helpful to build a bunch of different template structures. Especially the small houses. I found this very helpful for the Bazaar. Once you get a rough layout then add detail and modify placed buildings so they look unique. Building each unique structure on the spot is really time consuming.
Build a couple small to medium sized houses using Asian/Japenese styles. Then post screenies of those. EDIT: If you don't know what Asian or Japanese looks like click here: http://bit.ly/11ep8nW
Well, damn. When are you guys planning on being finished with the build? Because my family just decided to go on a vacation for 8 days.
Dumbass, teamspeak isn't for mac. It can RUN on mac, but it can run on all PC OS'. You can't help build unless you show sk pictures of what you've previously built, and he deems whether of not it's enough to help build. You can't just say "I can help build" or "Can I help build?".
@Shadow, no need to be rude. @fKunze123, here is the Teamspeak3 downloads page. It clearly lists compatible versions for all the major operating systems including Windows and MAC OS X. You should join us on TS! A microphone is prefered but not required.
