That or they could just toss everything into an incinerator and request sk to delete their player data for that authentic reset.
Can we have another option: Lose RedPower2, add MFR and reset the world? (because it would be terribly broken without RP2) :3
Yea but we're waiting again when we wanna update to 1.6... or reset again. I think there's no need for redpower, and eloraam is making herself rare, so **** her.
With all the mods being suggested right now, the fairly basic IMO routing systems in RP2 can easily be replicated. If we reset the world, then we won't have issues over mining world and main world resource differences and the like. Adding RP2 back in would just cause issues when we must update again and eloraam is too busy to update the mod that most other modpacks (don't get me wrong: I'm not saying they are better than us) have deserted at this point, and the people using them are still ok.
We need to reset to avoid having random holes in the ground and the RP2 machines of inactive players from causes problems and to make sure that MFR is added seamlessly because it'll be taking RP2's place on the server as a base and early-access mod. EDIT: Oh, and so that the ores that RP2 generated can be placed into the world by other mods.
I think a reset would be beneficial to the community. I joined shortly after the last reset, and had a blast roughing it and actually worrying about dying. You guys say that I could just dump my inventory for a reset but the fact is that the bulk of the active community is endgame, selling iridium and uu and not sure what to do with themselves. When I wanted to build my first ult I had to go fly in the end for hours to get sheldonite and then get iridium that way, while trying to use thermal gens to make enough uu for the sunnarium. If I wanted that much iridium now I could just go mine for 20 min and have enough stuff to trade for iridium. I don't want my stuff reset all that much, I want EVERYONE reset so that we can all be a growing community again rather than a stagnant one. And for anyone in the middle of the game, not new but not end game yet, once you have reactors and thousands of uu, there isn't much to do anymore, the fun is in the process not the result.
We're trading Iridium but not because we don't know what to do with ourselves. I am far from running out of project ideas. Everyone else thinks they've reached endgame but how does that happen on a game that's endless? Are you bored? Build a McDonalds, join a town, start a power company. There's so much more to do before we reset.
Agreed on this, since our base has everything, I've actually got the time and resources to build a thaumcraft tower, and start up some railcraft trains. If we do a reset, I won't be able to build up these things for a few months. The game is endless, if you don't mind building and making things pretty. If you're only obsessed with progression, then there isn't that much to do at all.
That seems to be what everyone is basing their reason for resetting on. Just because, what.... 30-40 odd people are end-game?, that doesn't really seem to be a reason to reset the map a server that houses 150 odd players a day. Especially for one that hasn't even been up for half a year.
The amount of hysteria, over reaction, and poor assumptions caused by the suggestion there might be a reset is a bit much. Take a deep breath. There is no sinister cabal of end-gamers maneuvering SK to reset the map. Please consider that those of us at end game may want time to enjoy the fruits of our labor. SK has already stated which route is most likely. There is no need for accusations and insults. Or if it makes you feel better, pat yourselves on the back, for you have defeated the evil 30's reset plan.
