Resolved Sell Nether Stars/Wither Skeleton Skulls at Spawn

Yes, they should sell stars and skeletons at the spawn...
But it should be expensive!
Really expensive, because spawning a wither could make a lot of damages to the landscape, including at the spawn!

 

Perhaps only allow withers to be spawned in the mining world? That is where I spawned mine out of fear.

 

Maybe 2 diamond blocks for a nether star, and 5 diamonds per wither skull, it should be that way to not devalue the fight of a wither. I will agree that this is a good idea though, the mob spawn rate is low on the server, and some mob drops are necessary to get different items on the server. Maybe a mob drop shop at spawn could help alleviate the problems of the low spawn rate.

 

I agree that skulls should be sold. But Nether Stars should not. They can be used as a power source in the Magical Energy Converter for 10mil EU. They are also a component of the beacon and I think you should have to fight a Wither to get that.

 

Selling the skulls would be a good idea, as long as they are very expensive. Hours can go by on the server with very low, to no mob spawning.

Selling nether stars, means that skulls, and wither, are both useless.
Wich should not be!

 

There is a lot of frustration that it's near impossible to get the skulls. I built a four chunk, multi-level platform and have yet to get a single wither skeleton spawn despite several hours of waiting (yes, on fortress chunks).

I agree about not selling stars directly.

 

After reading a lot of the responses, I can agree with you guys that the stars themselves being sold is a bad idea, maybe only the heads, seeing as head drops from withers are like 10% drop.

 

Skulls are a 1 in 40 drop, or 2.5%, with looting 3 it is 4%. The only way I was able to to get wither skeletons to spawn was to literally remove a good portion of the nether at a fortress(over 100 chunks), make a large platform, then just kill everything that spawns until skeletons spawn. When mobs are spawning it was not all that hard to get the skulls. The issue is, as others have said, is most of the time mob spawning is painfully slow.

 

Well, I sorta found one of the causes of the mob spawn rate. The endermen in the end. Someone was in the end, and every time they died and left the end mobs started spawning at a normal rate, and as soon as they re entered the end, the mobs just stopped spawning, and this was with relatively few people on the server.

 

Makes sense, there are hundreds of endermen in the end all the time. I did suggest this same thing not to long ago. But it should only be the skulls, and like someone else said, only in the mining world.

 

I'm late but, YES.... PLEASE do this. I can not get them anywhere.

 

Sure make a hunting shop that sells all the skulls at INSANE prices. And double insane for Withers..
But don't sell Stars... Because what buttons said. Couldn't put it better!

Then you won't have to worry about buying them from the shop will you. There's no need to nitpick around the fact that unique mob drops, of any kind, should NEVER become easily bought from NPC merchants, and no amount of smart-ass boasts about the contents of your pockets will ever change that.

 

WTF, we are talking about wither skulls here, you said we should sell regular mob heads/skulls for an insane price, and that we should sell wither skull head for an even more insane price. I pointed out that regular mob heads are an easily obtainable item, wither heads are supposed to be hard not damn near impossible, which is what they are right now. Hence the request to have them sold.

How the hell is anything that I said smart ass or boasting? What you just said is quite literally exactly the opposite of the post you said before. What gives dude? Pick a side, choose it, stop trolling.

Rest assured, I'll gladly overlook your misinformed attack, as it appears to be seeded with frustration/anger and ultimately confusion about my position of conditional support regarding the sale of mob drop skulls.

For clarity's sake: I do not support the notion of selling the Nether Star, at any cost.
