The energy link is massively over powered. Why is it overpowered? Using the link, a quarry can be run at full speed and costs only 24 eu/t. A mining well will go from 70 to bedrock in less than 10 seconds, and costs about 50 eu/t. Putting 16 mining wells on a frame machine allows an entire chunk to be cleared about every 5 minutes, at a cost of about 800 eu/t. The machine mines more than enough uranium to power everything with nuclear reactors, without wasting effort on breeders. Most of us have not made a stink about it, because energy links are easy to use. Now that we have both the electrical engine from Forestry, and the blulectric engine from RP2, it may be time to retire the energy link.
And it would typically be done deep in the wilderness, or a mining world. It does not have to be pretty, as long as the blocks pile up.
