For those of you who haven't noticed or heard about it yet, I have created a large circle in the ocean just south of spawn, about 64 blocks in diameter. There are many things which will go in this area eventually, but I need your help to prepare them! See, I'm not very good at designing things that look really amazing, but I am good at making stuff that DOES amazing things. The main thing that I need help on: Arena designs. That's right, folks, this will one day contain a pvp/mob arena! and not just one, but many! as many designs as I can get that are awesome, there will be arenas. Using craftbook, it is possible to toggle a build on and off within an area, so players will be able to fight off mobs or other players in a variety of stages. If you would like to contribute, please build your arena in creative mode or MCedit (or your choice of others, so long as I can easily grab the design from your submitted file) I have included a creative map with a template for the size of the arena, so you can use this to build if you like. Constraints: The arena must fit inside the walls of the ring (height does not matter much, but please don't make one that goes from max height to bedrock. I need to have space for the controls) While you CAN use the entire space of the ring if you choose, it will be easier for me to select a square or rectangular area. With that in mind, a square or rectangular arena is preferred, but not mandatory! I encourage you to use as much space as you need to make it look nice. Must use vanilla items only! Do not include mob spawners. Other block types that are impossible to get normally are discouraged, but not forbidden so long as it adds to the aesthetic or functional value of the arena Must include at least one screenshot, as well as either a MCEdit schematic or world save There is no limit to the number of entries If you worked as a team to build the arena, please include all the names (or a team name, if you choose). If one person designed the whole arena, and everyone else helped to build it, feel free to name the designer specifically. If you want players to use specific items while in the arena, place a chest outside the arena with the item set that will be made available. if you would like to let the players have multiple options (or randomly decided) item sets, have one item set per chest. (place a sign with "random" near the chests to indicate random selection. if they have different likelihoods of selection, rank them from one to whatever in order of most likely to least likely. if you want each player to have a different one, on the "random" sign, add a line saying "1 each") If you want/need to limit the number of players at a time, or wish to have a specific max, place a sign saying "4p max" or "4p only" outside the arena, where 4 is the number of players (change to fit your number)[it is likely that I will set a default maximum depending on size of the arenas, most likely 8 or less, so if you want more than that, please specify.] If you are in need of inspiration, allow me to make a few suggestions on arena designs: Biome arenas (arenas that look like the normal world map) Abandoned mineshafts strongholds nether nether fortress end sky islands caves cities Remember, it can be any form of PvP or PvE! it's not just restricted to sword fights (hint hint, spleef or archery[or something even cooler]) Submission Form: Arena Name: Creator: Schematic/save file: Description: Screenshot(s): If you have more than one screenshot, please insert the best one and include links to the rest, in order to conserve space. If your arena is selected, it will be credited to whoever you put as the creator in some way or form when I put it into Vincent. As a final note, feel free to make suggestions or ask any questions you have here. Did you make your cylinder with a command ? If no, then why the water around is bugged, and why the arena looks weirdly exactly like if someone made a command (I mean for the blocks positions, and size)?
Sounds good! I'll probably have a submission for you soon. Also, Chaeris, the reason the water around is "bugged" is because we used sponges to clear out the water. *warms up MCEdit*
Also, can we use custom-enchanted items, like Zistonian Battlesigns or enchanted porkchops that have Knockback X on them?
How could they cheat on a server?, the only use for knockback X is for PVP and since pvp isn't condoned on both servers it wouldn't be for cheating even if they could get it on the server.
Its impossible to get knockback X on a server anyway, without using mcedit/NEI/spc in a world then transferring the world to a server.
The Oceanic pillar appears for now ugly, but I know it will get great... I hope at least It would be the best event place !
I am working on a design i'll probabely upload it wednesday since i cant play minecraft i'm having exams atm :-( Edit: I have 3 designs planned: A map with 4 different biomes/elements, one with a medieval village/castle and one with a mix of land/village
um. If it requires a mod or a plugin, make sure we have it before applying it to your arena, k? if you have a plugin that you think would make for a really cool arena idea or concept, run it past the guys in charge in the mod request forum or whatever ^3^ Also, it is highly likely that I will apply the rule of "please store all personal items before the fight" and use special arena-only items or something like that, in order to keep things as fair as possible. you know? I'll update the top post to reflect this.
You can probabely use like a hunger games plugin they provide a lobby-to-spawn teleport system, an auto match beginning/ending system. This might lower the amount of redstone u need to do for this.
