maybe in place of anime night, we can hav a lil chat conference of how exactly to balance/improve the alice server? obviously irc is cool too, but we need a scheduled time set up to talk with each other about how to balance out the new alice. i suggest using teamspeak as usual or irc.

I do like the idea of a weekly conference/podcast type thing. I think I may look into potential ideas for this.
my main concern atm is that the mod requests thread is waaaaay too big and outta hand at this point, and a conference would definitely be a bit shorter... also has much more of a personal touch.
We could do it in TS, as there's features like priority speaker to keep things civil. And, if someone has say, a bad mic, it's easy to turn them up or down at your leisure.
Great idea, the only problem is that someone will have to write up the whole conference to make a short list of ideas and things that will or won't happen on the server, I can write really fast and I have a good memory so I can type it, but not ATM (problem with a finger, so another is used as a tutor, I can't write really fast this way :/). What I know (cause I saw in videos) is that sk89q types as fast as me, maybe a really little bit faster but I'm not sure... Anyway we still need someone, I don't think we'll make elections, people that want to do that will just have to make a typing test on an english website, but everyone must use the same website (only this way results could indicate who's fastest)
I wouldn't mind something like a podcast as texas suggested. I am really into the idea of having something like that every few weeks where we could just circulate ideas for things (server related or not (not like builds)) or just talk about what happened in past weeks, minecraft or other game related. Maybe it would be a certain panel of people talking with maybe a host or 2. I just love the idea of a podcast for the community in general
Actually, what Shadow just posted has been in my head for quite some time, and if there would be enough people co-operating I would gladly make this happen!
Why not to use the one Youtube uses (Hangouts)? (or to make it directly into Youtube, I know that there could still be a way to have comments about the stream)
A bi-monthly or monthly podcast would probably work best as stuff doesn't change all that frequently. Of course, we can talk about non-Minecraft things Doing something like Hangouts on Air (as Chaeris suggested) would be the easiest. I'll also look into other potential methods of doing this.
well i'm not sure how much bandwidth video pulls, but i know sound and text pull a lot less, which is why i'd prefer it. if bandwidth isnt an issue, then vid would be totally fine to me.
we could have a google docs that's moderated by admins. also, i think our first discussion-to get to business- is to talk about alice's balancing, particularly with teleportation and tele-pipes. there seems to be dissent about what exactly is and isn't balanced when it comes to tele-stuff
Thats a good idea weirdie but I think before we think about topics, we would want to get things straightened out. Like how many people would be on the "podcast" at a time, what would it be hosted on, just stuff like that.
